SUN CITY PALM DESERT, CA. is one of the premier ACTIVE ADULT 55+ communities in the Coachella Valley. Sun City Palm Desert is located just off Washington on the north side of Hwy. I-10 freeway.
This active senior 55+ community has homes priced from the $200,000s for the patio homes up to $1,000,000 depending on location, setting and view. Started by Del Webb over 13 years ago as one of his "showcase" active adult developments, SUN CITY PALM DESERT is one of the best selling active adult communities in Southern California. With 5000 homes nestled at the foot of the Chocolate Mountains, its a city unto itself. There are two 18 hole golf courses that meander through the development giving many homes fabulous views of well planted fairways, palms and beautiful water features. SUN CITY PALM DESERT GOLF
There are two golf courses in this community under the Mountain Vista Golf Course management.Santa Rosa was built first, followed by San Gorgonio as the development was built out.Both Santa Rosa and San Gorgonio are per 72 and offer challenging but fun golf.The courses have been beautifully landscaped with lakes, waterfalls and hundreds of palms.Fairways are fairly wide, but have many planted hazard and sand traps to catch the ball that isn't dead-on" straight down the fairway.
There are several golfing clubs for the residents of SUN CITY PALM DESERT to join: mens and womens 18-hole clubs, womens 9-hole, couples golf, men, women and couples putters, and more.There is also a challenging 18 hole putting course and several practice putting and chipping areas as well as a full service driving range.

SUN CITY PALM DESERT has more than 80 different clubs for residents to join.Theres art, billiards, bocce, cyclists, bowling, car club, many dance clubs, card and game clubs, genealogy, RV, several dance clubs, singing, singles, wine, travel, state club's;even a yacht club and thats just a few.If there isn't one that you're especially interested in, you can start your own!
SUN CITY PALM DESERT ACTIVITIES
You'll never be bored if you reside in SUN CITY PALM DESERT, one
of Del Webb/Pultes premier active adult 55+ communities.In and near the Mountain Vista clubhouse, residents can play billiards, bocce ball, paddle tennis, tennis, swim in the indoor or outdoor pools, relax in the spas, join the many card or board game clubs, learn to paint, do arts and crafts, sew, eat at the Vista Grill, or just sit and relax under the misters on the patio and enjoy the fantastic panoramic mountain views with a glass of wine or ice
tea.
The newer Shadow Hills Clubhouse offers a full lending library with internet access, several meeting  rooms for various clubs, and a dance and aerobics studio.The speakers hall is also used for movies and church services.Boulevards Bar and Grill offers a lunch and dinner menu 7 days a week and the singles and karaoke groups meet there weekly for fun and entertainment.The beautiful 4200 sq. ft. outdoor pool makes a great setting for the restaurant and offers exercise and/or relaxation.Theres also a cabana area adjoining the restaurant which makes outdoor food service readily available to the pool.The bocce courts are just across the parking area.
The Mountain Vista "state of the art" fitness center has both an indoor and outdoor pool, with lap lanes and therapy spas, a large workout area with state-of-the-art workout equipment and free weights and personal trainers available on request.There is an indoor walking tract in both fitness centers as well as miles of bike lanes and walking/jogging paths throughout the development.Midway up Del Webb Blvd. is a "catch and release" fishing pond where the yacht club often meets to sail their model boats.
All-in all, SUN CITY PALM DESERT is a wonderful community and with all that it has to offer, is, in my opinion, the best ACTIVE ADULT 55+ community in the Coachella Valley
